Hey your Windows XP has a very good but hidden feature !

Trick Advantage :You can leave your work in between and shutdown the PC and resume it next time as it is !
Even I switched off my PC while writing this article and when I reopened it I resumed my article from where i left !

When you want to stop your work and shutdown(Keeping your programs open)
Do The Following :1. Click start>Turn Off Computer.
2. As the Turn Off menu comes up press 'Shift' and 'Stand By' changes to 'Hibernate'
3. Click Hibernate (Shift Kept Pressed)

Your xp will save the work and shutdown !

Now, when you switch it on again it will resume it again !

No loading of windows will take place and you will be resumed to your work as if you had just switched your monitor off and now on again !

How To Change A Cmos Battery

The inside of a computer is a bad place full of electricity and sharp edges. On the electricity side always when working on you computer make sure that it’s still plugged in to the power socket and the power is turned off, this is to ensure that any static From you is discharged through the earth. The inside of most computer cases are unfinished metal and has very sharp edges so be careful.

The first signs of a battery failing are:-

1) your clock starts running slowly
2) when you boot (start) your computer it has a problem finding your hardware (no hard drive, no cd rom)

To change the battery you need the following tools:-

1) a X-point screwdriver
2) an anti-static strap(optional)
3) a new battery (seems logical)

Then unplug all the cables from the back of the computer as you remove them make a note where they came from. (So when you finished you can put them back)

Recover a Corrupted System File

If an essential Windows file gets whacked by a virus or otherwise corrupted, restore it from the Windows CD. Search the CD for the filename, replacing the last character with an underscore; for example, Notepad.ex_. If it's found, open a command prompt and enter the command EXPAND, followed by the full pathname of the file and of the desired destination: EXPAND D:\SETUP\NOTEPAD.EX_ C:\Windows\NOTEPAD.EXE. If either pathname contains any spaces, surround it with double quotes.

How to use Bluetooth technology to connect laptop and cell phone?

We can use Bluetooth technology to connect laptop and cell phone. We can move videos, images, photos etc from  desktop computer or a laptop to our cell phones. In order to use Bluetooth technology to connect laptop and cell phone we need a laptop and a cell phone which support this technology. 

If the laptop doesn't support it, we can use a USB Bluetooth dongle.  Just plug it into the USB port of the desktop computer or laptop. Leave the rest to Microsoft Windows. It will find the driver and install it itself.  If it is not supported, we can manually install it via the manufacturer's compact disk. Defragment Drives Using CMD

Defragment is the utility designed to reduce the amount of fragmentation. It's must important for improving your computer efficiency. For defragment any drive using CMD, follow these steps:

Open command prompt.

Type defrag volume: (where volume is your drive name like c, d, e)

Ex:- defrag.exe c: -f

How To Change Drives Letter?

Wanna to change your drive letter name, follow these simple steps:

Go to Start > Run > Type diskmgmt.msc > Disk Management will be open.

Right-click on drive > click Change Drive Letter and Paths.
Click Change.
Click Assign the following drive letter if it is not already selected, click the drive letter that you want to use, and then click OK.
Click Yes when you are prompted to confirm the drive letter change.
